H πολύχρωμη πλωτή αγορά της Μπανγκόκ!

Οι πλωτές αγορές δεν είναι κάτι ασυνήθιστο για χώρες όπως η Ταϊλάνδη, η Ινδονησία ή το Βιετνάμ, καθώς η μετακίνηση με βάρκες, ακόμα και... η διαμονή πάνω στο νερό είναι κάτι συνηθισμένο για τους ντόπιους. Έτσι η πώληση αγαθών με βάρκες είναι ένα καθημερινό φαινόμενο, όπως και στην πλωτή αγορά Damnoen Saduak της Μπανγκόκ που αποτελεί ένα από τα σημαντικότερα και εντυπωσιακότερα αξιοθέατα της Ταϊλάνδης. 

Τα κανάλια που απαρτίζουν σήμερα την πλωτή αγορά χτίστηκαν το 1866 με απόφαση του βασιλιά της Ταϊλάνδης για να διευκολύνει την επικοινωνία με την επαρχία.

Η λειτουργία της πλωτής αγοράς ξεκίνησε το 1967 και σήμερα στηρίζεται αποκλειστικά από τους τουρίστες που την επισκέπτονται και όχι από τους ντόπιους. Τα κανάλια μέσα και γύρω από την Μπανγκόκ διευκολύνουν την επικοινωνία μεταξύ των διάφορων περιοχών της πόλης, ενώ πολλοί άνθρωποι εξακολουθούν να ζουν κατά μήκος τους και χρησιμοποιούν τις βάρκες ως μέσο μεταφοράς από το ένα σημείο στο άλλο.

Οι ντόπιοι γεμίζουν της βάρκες τους με αγαθά, κυρίως φρούτα και λαχανικά αλλά και ψάρια ακόμα και λουλούδια και «πλημμυρίζουν» τους ποταμούς προκειμένου να πουλήσουν την πραμάτεια τους. Ο κόσμος συνωστίζεται στις ξύλινες εξέδρες και αγοράζει όλων των ειδών τα φρούτα, σε αρκετά τσιμπημένες τιμές, ενώ τα παζάρια αποτελούν αναπόσπαστο μέρος της αγοραπωλησίας. Οι εικόνες που δημιουργούνται είναι εντυπωσιακές καθώς όλων των ειδών τα χρώματα και τα αρώματα γεμίζουν το τοπίο, που αποτελεί ένα από τα πιο πολυφωτογραφημένα της Ταϊλάνδης.
