The tech season is as heated as it gets and with our Apple iPhone 5s review now served, it’s time to turn our heads to the battery life of Apple’s latest smartphone. On the outside, not much has changed compared to the iPhone 5, but on the inside there’s an all new A7 64-bit processor as well as a slightly larger battery – 1,560 mAh compared to the iPhone 5 1,440mAh.
We are yet to see how those affect real live...
performance, and how they perform under iOS 7, which is said to be as power-efficient as possible.
Let’s kick things off with the first test in our suite, which measures talk time endurance on a 3G network. The Apple iPhone 5s posted a good score of 10 hours and 46 minutes, good 2 hours longer than the iPhone 5.

Moving on to the web browsing test. According to Apple, the iPhone 5s live through 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing and that’s an almost exactly what we got in our test – the smartphone lasted for 9 hours and 58 minutes.

Finally, we come to the video playback test, where the iPhone 5s lasted 10 hours and 31 minutes, which is 19 minutes better than the iPhone 5.

So, time for the endurance rating and the Apple iPhone 5s scored very pleasing 54 hours.This means that you will only need to charge it once every 54 hours if you use it for an hour of web browsing, an hour of video playback and an hour of talk time per day. Just for a comparison, the iPhone 5 scored an endurance rating of 51 hours.
