A McLaren P13 mule was spied conducting testing while wearing the body of its larger sibling, the 12C.
Last time we saw McLaren's upcoming entry-level offering it was wearing a production body but now our spies grabbed on camera a mule featuring the 12C body so there isn't much to be said about the car's design...
What we do know is the car will come out sometime in 2015 and will borrow the carbon fiber monocoque chassis from the 12C and P1 so it should have a curb weight of less than 1,434 kg (3,161 lbs).
Chances are the McLaren P13 will be powered by the familiar V8 3.8-liter engine producing around 450 bhp (335 kW) sent to the wheels through a dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox. The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) task should be completed in less than 4 seconds en route to a maximum speed of about 200 mph (322 km/h).
McLaren says they want to sell 2,500 units of the P13 (name not confirmed) in 2015 when the car will go on sale and one year later they plan to introduce a convertible version.
