Nike has announced a refreshed version of its fitness tracker, the Nike+ FuelBand SE, together with an updated Nike+ app.
The FuelBand SE comes in black with red, pink or yellow detailing, and adds Bluetooth 4.0 and more refined motion tracking to its arsenal of features. That means Fitbit-style sleep tracking, and the ability to ignore unintended actions (or movements that you're using to game the...
system, though quite why you'd drop money on a fitness tracker and then lie to it is beyond us).
Like previous FuelBands, the FuelBand SE displays "NikeFuel" earned throughout the day as you move, logging it to the associated iOS app and Nike+ website.
KEEP ON RUNNING
Most of the enhancements to the new FuelBand, though, come in the form of an updated Nike+ FuelBand app, with several new features.
Sessions lets you define start and end points for exercise activities like running and hitting the gym, and calculate how much NikeFuel you've earned in each session. Win the Hour tracks you on an hour by hour basis, reminding you to move more often if you're not meeting your goal. Fuel Rate lets you see how quickly you're earning NikeFuel and how intensely you're moving. And a Groups feature lets you connect with friends and share your fitness achievements with them.
The new Nike+ FuelBand SE will be available from 6 November for US$150
