AIG To Draw Another $2.1B From Treasury
American International Group is seeking to access another $2.1 billion from the U.S. Treasury Department, Bloomberg reports. The proceeds will be used to purchase the shares of its aircraft leasing unit, International Lease Finance Corporation, which it has been trying to sell.
AIG had accessed about $2.1 billion from its Treasury facility on Aug. 13, 2009 and has revealed plans to draw another $2.1 billion. The insurance major is expecting to receive the funds on Nov. 13, 2009, adds Reuters.
